you can’t start too early !

  soft, washable cloth books are ideal for babies

  find simple soft books with different textures to feel and and flaps that make a
     crinkly noise when they are held

  at this stage, books and toys are interchangeable

  try and put over the idea of turning pages, but don’t insist

  speak to your baby and describe what you see, just as you would with a slightly
     older child – don’t be embarrassed – and do it often

  above all, make sure the experience for the baby (and you!) is fun
